LG (phones/lg/index.html) Electronics unveiled the world’s first market-ready Touch Watch Phone (Model: GD910 (phones/lg/lg-watch-mobile-phone-gd910.html) ) with 3G Video Telephony and GSM Quadband Network capabilities at CES 2009.This wearable phone is a follow-up to the prototype that LG introduced at CES 2008 and includes a number of upgrades, including a full touchscreen interface, 3G capabilities and video calling. Most importantly, this watch phone will actually be available for purchase.

Sony Ericsson (zoom/page,search/type,quicksearch/sstring,ericsson/Itemid,26/) today announces its first mobile phone with Smile Shutter, technology that detects a person’s smile and immediately takes the photo, wrapped up in its most affordable Cyber-shot phone to date; the C510 Cyber-shot (phones/sonyericsson/sony-ericsson-c510.html) . The Smile Shutter technology will also be added to the 8.1 megapixel camera phone C905 Cyber-shot (phones/sonyericsson/sony-ericsson-c905.html) , launched in November 2008. The C510 sports a 3.2 MP camera with autofocus, has face detection technology, auto-rotation screen, Snapfish by HP for printing, YouTube , Photo Fix and SMS conversation history.The C510 will be available in selected markets from Q1 2009.

Motorola (phones/motorola/index.html) today announced the world’s first mobile phone made using plastics comprised of recycled water bottles, the W233 Renew (phones/motorola/motorola-renew-w233.html) .It features a 128 x 128 65K CSTN display (1.6”), measures 45 x 110.97 x 14.7 mm, microSD card support up to 2GB and has a standby up to 18 days. Motorola Renew is expected to be available beginning in Q1 2009.
